General information – The Bubble Coral, is quite popular among reef keepers all over the world, it is hardy coral with unique appearance, the bubble coral gets it's' name because of the protective shape it has. Common Name - Bubble Coral, Bladder Coral, Pearl Coral Scientific Name - Plerogyra sinuosa Family - Caryophylliidae Origin - Indo Pacific, Indian Ocean, Red Sea Nutrition - Carnivore, The Bubble Coral is mostly photosynthetic, it will benefit from a Small piece of shrimp, mysis shrimp or silverside once a week. Behavior – Aggressive Maintenance and care - Easy to care for, it is recommended to provide this coral plenty of space between it and other corals otherwise it will sting other corals with its extended sweeper tentacles during the night. Maintaining correct calcium levels are essential for skeletal development of this coral it will also appreciate Strontium and iodine. The bubble coral can be placed anywhere in the tank but it is important to protect it from strong current flow. Bubble corals are recommended for beginners and should be kept only in reef tanks.
