General information – The Favia is a beautiful Large Polyp Stony

(LPS) Coral that occurs in brown, tan, green and cream colors. In

nature Favia coral is usually found about 25 to 30 feet below the

water’s surface.In home tank the Favia can adapt to a wide variety of

water conditions 

Common Name – Moonstone, Green Favia Brain, Pineapple Coral,

Brain Coral, Closed Brain Coral, Star Coral, Worm Coral, Brain Coral

Closed Green Moonstone and Moonstone Coral.

Family - Faviidae 

Origin – Indo Pacific

Nutrition – The Favia is a filter feeding coral. Favia can be fed and seem to appreciate direct

feeding (plankton or brine shrimp) in small amounts. 

Behavior - Aggressive 

Maintenance and care – The Favia is low demanding coral that certainly be considered a beginner's

coral.  This coral requires Calcium; average of 450 ppm will be great for it.The Favia will benefit from

trace elements, iodine and strontium. Its tentacles can extend to a distance approximately equal to the

diameter of the corals main body. Because of this, it must be placed a safe distance from other corals

otherwise it will sting them  

Water Parameters - Temperature: 72F-78F, PH 8.1-8.4, Specific Gravity: 1.021-1.026.
