General information – one of the latest loahes that found, very peaceful and elegant species.

Many fish keepers al over the world find the  Angelicus Botia as a unique creature that love to play.

The striped and spotted brown, gold colors along with her desire to play around make the

kubotai very popular.

Scientific Name - Botia kubotai

Family – Cobitidae.

Origin – Asia.

Size – 10 cm (3.9 inches).

First discovered - Kottelat 2004.

Nutrition – Omnivore, eat fish food, catfish wafers and frozen food.

Accept veggie food such as cucumber.

Behavior – peaceful. known to be very peaceful and social fish. 

Maintenance and care– very easy to care for require very pristine water conditions.

Need hiding places such as plants, Rocks, woods or caves.

Recommended to keep in schools of 4 and up.

Requires minimum 120 litter tank size.

Water Parameters – PH: 6.5- 7.5, temperature: 73F - 82F (23c-28c), DH: 10-20.

Breeding– not breed in captivity can be breed by injecting them hormones.
