General information – The horse head loach is a nice add to any community tank, its unique appearance along with its good nature make it very popular all over the world. Due to this specie's wide geographic distribution, many color and pattern variants are known. The horse head loach spends most of the day burrowing beneath the substrate but at night it known to be very active fish. Nutrition – the horse head/face will accept commercial food such as flakes and pellets. It is mostly recommended to feed it with live or frozen food such as worms, crustaceans, blood worms, Mysis, Brine Shrimp. It can be fed also with catfish wafers. Behavior – Peaceful, Maintenance and care - The tank should contain sand or a very fine gravel to allow these loaches to dig and burry themselves in it. Make sure to decorate the tank with hiding places such as rocks, caves and woods. The face horse loach should be kept in schools of 4 and more. Water Parameters – Temperature: 79F-84 F (26C-29C), PH: 6-8, DH: 1- 10 Breeding - Has not been bred in captivity
