General information - The Buruni is a fascinating cichlid, in Reproduction time the male wrap is body around the female. The burtoni have a grayish body with light tendency to blue, his fins are blue with red spots on them, only the anals fin have blended orange spots. Common Name – Burtoni. Scientific Name - Haplochromis burtoni. Family – Cichlid. Origin - Africa , Lake Tanganika , Lake Kivo. Size -Up to 5 inches (12 centimeter). First discovered - Gunter 1894. Nutrition - The Burtuni nourished on small creatures but also need veggie nutrition. In home tank the burtoni will accept commercial food such as flakes and pellet. Behavior – semi-aggressive, can be aggressive toward other males. Maintenance and care - The Burtoni will appreciate water changing every week, need large tank (more then 50 gallon) with rocky areas. Water Parameters - PH-8-9, DH-7-18, 24-27°C (75-80°F) Breeding - Mouth breeders.
