Size – Up to 10 inches First discovered – Unknown Nutrition – Omnivorous, Goldfish flake or pellet food will provide the Red Oranda with the proper nutrition, frozen foods and vegetable matter can be given from time to time. Behavior – Peaceful Maintenance and care – Requires 30 gallons of water or more. The tank should decorate with several hiding spaces (woods or rocks) with fine gravel and plenty of room to swim. best kept with other goldfish or large coldwater species due to the fact that it is coldwater fish so do not mix it with tropical fish as it requires a less temperature than tropical fish. Goldfish are notoriously filthy, producing much waste, frequent water changes and good filtration system is essential. Water Parameters – Temperature: 1C-40C (34F-104F), PH: 6-8, DH: 5-20 Breeding- During the spawning season the male will have small white dots on their head, pectoral fins and gill covers. The female will lay about 1000 eggs. It is highly recommended to remove the parents from the breeding tank or else they will eat their own eggs.
