General information - The Neocaridina denticulata is a very similar to the Cardinia Japonica.

The difference between the Neocaridina denticulata to the Cardinia Japonica is not only by

the body size but also because the denticulata larva do not

need brackish or saltwater to reproduce. 

The Neocaridina denticulata consider being the common

shrimp in the hobby.

Scientific Name - Neocaridina denticulata.   

Family - shrimp.  

Origin – Taiwan.                                                                                      

Size - 2.5-3.5 cm.

Nutrition- omnivore, The Neocaridina denticulata feeds on all kind of algae, dead leaf and dead fish can be

 

part of its diet. In home aquarium the Neocaridina denticulata will accept fish food, shrimp wafers and

 

catfish wafers. 

 

Behavior – Harmless.

 

Maintenance and care - The Neocaridina denticulata need a lot of vegetation in his tank,

 

The plants can be source of nutrition and also a good shelter for him and for the baby shrimp.

 

Cichlid and other big or aggressive fish can't live with the Neocaridina denticulata in the same tank.

 

The Neocaridina denticulata is sensitive to copper like all the shrimp family.

Breeding - reproduce easily in freshwater, there is no need using r.o system.
