Snails appear in the fossil record around 500 million years ago. Snails are a very successful species there are around 80,000 species of snails that have been identified They can be our tank little helpers but they can be our worst nightmare when they reach to huge numbers. Snails feed on dead leafs and other organic leftovers, some use to graze algae wile other Snails like the Helena snail feeds on other snails. Snails breed easily by laying eggs. There are two main types of snails, those that have gills and those that have lung.
