General information – The Acanthurus sohal is an endemic species from the Red Sea and to the Western Indian ocean. Nutrition – omnivore. In nature the Sohal tang mainly found grazing on algae In home tank they will accept commercial food but will need their daily greens. Oriental store algae or Spirulina flakes are their favorites. Best to feed small amounts several times a day Behavior – peaceful but can be aggressive especially if another tang is added to the tank. Maintenance and care – The Sohal tang is difficult to keep species. A minimum 100-120 gallon tank is recommended for the Sohal tang. Due to its eating habit (messy eater and big eaters) powerful filtration system is essential along with suitable protein skimmer. strong water movement is also recommended. Water Parameters – Temperature: 75F-79F, PH: 8.1-8.4, Specific Gravity- 1.022-1.026 Breeding – not yet breed in captivity
