General information- The Yellow Watchman Goby is also known as the Yellow Watchman Prawn, or Yellow Shrimp Goby, Gobies are the largest family of fish found in the ocean, and they include dart fish, jaw fish and blennies.The name watchman goby is derived from their large protruding eyes and from their tendency to stand guard, the Yellow watchman goby is a type of shrimp goby. The Yellow watchman goby acts as a watchman for a nearly blind shrimp signaling it when there is danger around.With his beautiful yellow color and his unique appearance the Yellow Watchman Goby is one of the most popular goby in the hobby.

Nutrition- The yellow watchman should be fed with a large of mix food fresh or frozen mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, finely chopped table shrimp and frozen foods for carnivores. They will appreciate varied high protein diet like marine flake food, their diet must have vitamin enriched flake food that is complemented with sinking shrimp pellets and chopped sea food. It is recommended to feed the yellow watchman goby at least 2-3 times a day.
Behavior- Peaceful Maintenance and care- The Yellow Watchman Goby should be kept in at least 30 gallons, it requires a plenty of rocks, ample swimming room, and a sand bottom for burrowing. To avoid conflict you should not put more than one yellow watchman in 30 gallons tank unless they are a pair. This rule applies only for smaller tanks, if you have a big tank you must provide him the same condition mentioned above so they could keep the peaceful relationship in the tank. Make sure your tank has a cover on it because these Gobies may jump out of your tank, so take precautions. The Yellow Watchman Goby is quite shy and may disappear for long periods of time. If yours disappears, don't get panic since it is probably hiding somewhere in the tank.

Breeding- Yellow watchman gobies are hard to sex but the females are often a little rounder. Males tend to be bright white and females tend to more grey in color, you should provide them narrow cave that is just big enough for the parents to squeeze themselves into.You should avoid putting more than one pair in 30 gallons.
