General information -The Pakistan Butterflyfish has an impressive presence. Its beautiful brown to black colors on its body, mask-like head defined with white stripe mixed with black white and silver stripes on its face not to forget its beautiful red tail all of which makes this species very desired among hobbyists. Family - Chaetodontidae Origin - Sri-Lanka, Indo-Pacific Size – Up to 15 centimeters (6 inches) First discovered – Unknown Nutrition - Carnivore, in the wild, this magnificent Butterflyfish feeds on coral polyps but in captivity it will abandon its natural habits and feeds mainly on high quality commercial foods, frozen food such as mysis and krill will be appreciated. Behavior – Peaceful Maintenance and care – The Pakistani butterfly should be kept in a fish tank of at least 50 gallons and up with plenty of room to swim and plenty of rocks to hide. Most Red-tailed Butterflyfish are reef safe but some may occasionally eat coral polyps so it is highly recommended to be cautious. The Pakistani butterfly needs highly oxygenated water and should be kept with peaceful tankmates. Water Parameters – Temperature: 72F-78F, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Specific Gravity: 1.020 - 1.025 Breeding – Not yet breed in captivity.
