The name Tetradontiformes is from Greek, "tetra-" four, "dont-" teeth, "formes"- bearing. This small order of fish is filled with some of the more unusual fish Like puffers, boxfishes and file fishes. Many puffers and boxfishes contain an extremely virulent poison in the body tissues. Most of these species are rotund or box- like in shape, giving them the common names of boxfish, trunkfish, globefish.
